Overview

The Learning Pack is a collection of extra features that can help you improve your piano playing abilities, and they're already built into the game!

Try the six included demo songs in Synthesia now by clicking "Learning Pack" on the main menu in the game. If you like what you see...

Like the rest of Synthesia, the Learning Pack is a work in progress so the price is extra low. For now, a key for personal use is only $18 USD. That increases each release, but the key you buy now will continue to work in all future versions! So, buy now to get the low price and all the new features as they're released.

Also, if you ever donated to the project (any amount) before the Learning Pack was around, you get a free donor key.

Current Features

Here is what you get by purchasing an unlock key today:

  • Practice mode: The game waits for you to press the correct keys before moving on. Invaluable for learning a new piece or practicing correct fingering.
  • Sheet music display: Add a classic notation view to the game in addition to the arcade-style falling note display. Choose between "page flip" or "scrolling" display styles. Resize it during gameplay.
  • Note and key labels: Show note names on either the falling notes or keyboard keys in the English system, Fixed-Doh, or by scale number.
  • Falling measure lines: Enhance the falling note display with lines that correspond to the beginning of each measure. Aids rhythm.

Unlock Keys for Classrooms

There is a special kind of Learning Pack unlock key for use in educational organizations like classrooms or private studios. In addition to unlocking all the same features personal key users enjoy, there will be several exclusive features (just below) available only to Synthesia workstations running with "organization" keys. These will be especially well-suited to the classroom environment.

Organization Learning Pack keys are currently licensed at $39 USD per seat, but the keys never expire, work with any number of students, and come with lifetime free upgrades. You can buy educational keys from the purchase page, where there are also volume discount details.

Upcoming Exclusive Classroom Features

All of the classroom features will be based around a cross-platform server component that can be run on either the instructor's workstation or an on-site server. This component is free of charge but only works with game clients using an organization unlock key.

  • Central profiles: Scores, grades, and other activities are centrally reported. Students can use any workstation and their profile follows them.
  • Usage tracking: Report student participation or grading overall, per-exercise, or via advanced reports. Track improvement over successive exercise attempts.
  • Distributed assignments: Push exercises, assignments, or other pieces out to students via an in-game menu. Set goals for speed and accuracy on each assignment.
